Rhonda Justice leaving KOAM anchor post
Rhonda Justice, co-anchor of KOAM's 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts for the past three years, has given her notice and the station has been advertising for a replacement.
Ms. Justice told KOAM she would be leaving a few months ago, but the station has had time to conduct a thorough search for her successor.
"I've offered to stay on as long as they need me...or until they get a replacement," Ms. Justice told The Turner Report. She is staying in the Joplin/Pittsburg area. "I love KOAM and journalism," she said, but family situations, including a mother who recently had surgery and is going through months of rehabilitation have forced Ms. Justice to leave her position.
She does not plan to leave KOAM, she said. "I am planning to fill in whenever they are short-handed," she said. "It was a tough decision for me."
In addition to family concerns, Ms. Justice is also planning to expand her business interests. She recently opened "Girlfriends," a women's fitness facility in Joplin and she is looking toward adding franchises in Baxter Springs, Neosho, Bentonville, and Oklahoma.
