According to an article in this morning's Joplin Globe:
Daniels said he left that company three years ago, selling his stock and resigning, but he didn’t provide any additional information about his role with Trio.
In response to questions, Daniels said Polymer-Wood is a new business that has never mass-manufactured a product before. And while Daniels said he has had conversations with representatives of the Ace and True Value companies, Polymer-Wood doesn’t have any current customers.
Questions about Daniels' connection with Trio Industries, a company which wooed and jilted the communities of Mesquite, Texas, Kalamazoo, Mich., and Greenville, Miss., seeking financial incentives to locate a similar business, were first raised in the Nov. 4 Turner Report.
The city of Lamar is still reeling from the closing earlier this year of O'Sullivan Industries, a fact that City Councilman John Gilkey, who along with fellow council member Kent Harris were the leaders in questioning Daniels, noted:
“Of course, they know we need an employer. They know we are desperate for economic development.”
Evan Daniels served as Trio Industries President and should serve jail time for bilking investors and employees.
