Smith, Aull ask for continuance, Aull wants of change of judge, venue in Isle of Capri case
Two Missouri legislators charged with using false identification to gamble at the Isle of Capri casino in Boonville July 31, are asking for a continuance of their next hearing, which is scheduled for Nov. 28.
The requests were filed today in Cooper County Circuit Court by Sen. Jeff Smith, D-St. Louis, and Rep. Joseph Aull, D-Kansas City. Aull is also asking for a change of judge and change of venue, according to court documents.
Smith, Aull and former Isle of Capri lobbyist Lynne Schlosser pleaded not guilty during their arraignments Tuesday. According to authorities Smith, at Ms. Schlosser's suggestion, used Aull's identification to gamble, a violation of state law.
A hearing on the requests for a continuance is scheduled for Nov. 20.
