Steve Hunter, R-Joplin, is still number one when it comes to lobbyists' gifts accepted by Joplin-area state representatives.
Hunter accepted $302.73 in gifts in October, topped by $260 in tickets to the Oct. 6 MU-Nebraska football game from University of Missouri lobbyist Erin Elliott, according to documents posted on the Missouri Ethics Commission website Saturday.
Hunter's total for the first 10 months of 2007 is $3,423.51.
Speaker of the House in waiting Ron Richard, R-Joplin, accepted even more gifts in October than Hunter, though he is far behind his Joplin colleague for the year. Ethics Commission documents show he accepted $555.94 in gifts topped by $500 from MU lobbyists Erin Elliott ($390) and Martin Oetting ($110) for Mizzou football tickets. For the year, Richard has accepted $1,739.88 in gifts.
Ed Emery, R-Lamar, stands at $903.12 for 2007, with $39.80 in October.
Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin, has accepted $563.32 in 2007, but took no gifts in October.
Bryan Stevenson's 2007 total stands at $929.96, with $9 of that coming in October.
Kevin Wilson's total is $937.43 with $35 in October.
