McCain sweeps primaries
According to the networks, Sen. John McCain has swept the primaries in Washington, D. C., Maryland, and Virginia.
"The American people don't send us to Washington to serve our self interests, but to serve theirs," McCain is telling his supporters. "They don't send us to Washington to stroke our egos, but to keep this beautiful, bountiful country free, safe, prosperous, and proud."
"My friends, we are the makers of history, not its victims," McCain said, emphasizing his belief that America has control of its destiny.
McCain is defeating Mike Huckabee 67 to 17 percent in Washington, D. C., 56 to 33 percent in Maryland, and 50 to 41 percent in Virginia.
