Neosho La-Z-Boy plant to receive work from closed Utah facility

The Neosho La-Z-Boy plant will be adding jobs in the near future.
The facility will receive some of the work currently being done by a plant in Tremonton, Utah, according to an article in the Provo Daily Herald:

The Utah layoffs represent 13 percent of La-Z-Boy's production capacity, and the Tremonton plant's work will be shifted to its five remaining production plants in Neosho, Mo.; Redlands, Calif.; Siloam Springs, Ark.; Dayton, Tenn.; and Newton, Miss. About 400 jobs will added in those five plants.

"When we made the decision to offshore our fabrics- and leathers-cutting and sewing operations to Mexico, that freed up a lot of floor space in the plants. As a result, we decided we could operate with one less facility," said Kathy Liebmann, director of investor relations for La-Z-Boy. "We chose the Utah plant because it was more inefficient compared with others. We've had a lot of turnover there."
