Globe column looks at study on Sinquefield contributions

Do politicians who accept contributions from retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield toe the line when it comes to his pet issues, namely removal of campaign contribution limits snd educational vouchers?

Joe Hadsall's column
in today's Joplin Globe examines a recently-issued study by the Missouri Citizen Education Foundation, which looks at votes cast by elected officials who accepted Sinquefield contributions, a group that includes Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, Rep. Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin, and Rep. Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City.

All three, as you might expect, voted right down the line for Sinquefield.

Chris Koster received more money from Sinquefield than anyone except Matt Blunt. He got more than $100,000 from Sinquefield. Yes $100,000.

Too bad this democrat blog and the democrat front organization doing the "study" didn't analyze the democrat groups who back them, their giving records, and their paid for legislators.

It's apparent that democrats believe it is ok when their bought and paid for representatives vote as they are told but let a republican vote the way they believe AND have taken money from someone who believes the same way and well, there you have it proof positive.

Too bad this democrat blog and the democrat front group doing the "study" forgot to "report" that school choice has been part of the republican platform for over 30 years and was a priority issue for Missouri house republicans BEFORE Rex Sinquefield ever decided to return to the state.

The fact is the truth is too powerful for these democrat groups and totally destroys their illogical logic.

  3. It is truly fortunate that Republicans have calm, clearheaded people such as yourself to represent their point of view.

That's a good come back. Too bad you can't refute the facts.

Yeah nice comeback. That is what Turner does because he lacks wit and intelligence in his responses. As a result, he becomes frustrated and insults others then claims that he never does it.
