Emery grabs $2,600 from Sinquefield committees

Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, collected $5,675 in contributions during the second quarter, with $2,600 of that coming from political action committees started by billionaire Rex Sinquefield, according to his report filed Tuesday with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

The money came in the form of eight maximum $325 contributions, four from different Missourians Supporting Teaching Excellence, two from Missourians Needing Educational Alternatives, and one apiece from Missourians for Tax Reform and Merit Pay for Missouri Teachers.

Emery, the chairman of the Special Committee on Utilities, also received $250 from Embarq Employees PAC, Jefferson City; 325 from Missouri Energy Development Association, Jefferson City; $325 from Kim Harrison, Jefferson City, wife of Greg Harrison, lobbyist for Missouri Cable Telecommunications Association; $325 from Richard Telthorst, lobbyist for Missouri Telecommunications Association, Jefferson City; and $325 from Comcast Cable, Philadelphia, Pa.
