The lead story in the Friday Monett Times details the settlement reached in the lawsuit filed by former City Administrator Mark Blackwell against the city of Monett.
Of course, that is old news to Turner Report readers since this blog revealed the details of that settlement June 11, or more than four weeks ago, taking the information directly from public records. The news of the judge's approval of the settlement, also taken from court records, was featured in the June 24 Turner Report, or about two and a half weeks ago.
The Monett Times is usually about 2 to 3 weeks behind the actual news, especially when it involves city employees. Something tells me that when they don't want bad press The Monett Times is more than willing to oblige.
