Jennifer Denman, a reporter at KOAM for the past three years and a frequent fill-in on the morning show, has landed a reporter position with KOLR/KSFX in Springfield, according to a post on the News 2K blog:
This seems to be a trend... do well in the Joplin market and you can find a nice home in the Springfield one. Following in the steps of Cara Connelly, Tracy Turner, Lisa Rose, and Chad Plein, Jennifer Denman has joined the KOLR 10/ Ozarks FOX family as a reporter
Her bio on the KOLR/KSFX website reads:
I grew up in sunny California and have now decided to make the Midwest my home. I received my degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of California, in Los Angeles.s.
I began my career with the CBS affiliate in Tucson, Arizona as an assignment editor, then it was on to the sunflower state. For the last three years I have covered the four states for the CBS affiliate in Pittsburg, Kansas.
People ask me which I would take - an earthquake or a tornado. I say earthquake any day. The weather out here is so different, but I have been able to cover some amazing stories from flooding and ice storms to tornadoes.
Reporting is my passion! I love to meet new people and tell a good story. I am very excited to be joining the OzarksFirst team and look forward to bringing you the news that matter
Thanks for the shout-out Randy. She will be a welcome addition to the KOLR 10 staff I am sure.
ReplyDeleteShe is heaps better than the reporters they have over there now at KOAM.
ReplyDeleteI'd hope she would be heaps better, she has been there for three or four years. Eventually the resume tape lottery strikes someone.
ReplyDeleteI've watched KOAM for some time. This reporter, like so many got a chance to try the desk slot. When Erica got her shot she quickly moved to weekend FOX Anchor and then KOAM 5-6-10. Dowe has been them forever, Michael Hayslip, Doug Heady, Lisa Olliges, Dave Pylant, etc. Maybe they are just good at retaining the really good ones and promoting them accordingly and let the ones not ready to advance to leave. Based on their audience levels, they must be doing a lot more things right than KODE or KSNF.
