I have just been listening to MSNBC criticism of Joe Biden's speech and it seems awfully picky. The pundits expected better from Biden, but blamed the speechwriters who are still working in the new man on the campaign.
Biden's use of language and his ability to speak softly and command a crowd, building the speech to a crescendo for some odd reason reminded me of the master of that form of oratory- Billy Graham.

If John Kerry had been as forceful in 2004 as he was tonight, he might be running for reelection instead of building Obama's candidacy.

Obama's last-minute appearance was a highlight, and set the stage for the most highly-anticipated speech of the convention. Obama will be expected to deliver his best speech yet, and considering his past successes when the heat was on, odds are he will deliver.

President Clinton helped restore his image, which had been slightly tarnished during the primaries.

Hillary Clinton may have had the biggest success at all at the convention. Her speech was strong and she seems to have firmly established herself as a Democratic party powerhouse- not just the wife of a former president, but someone who may actually be more formidable (and far less prone to excess) than her husband.
