Earlier this week, Sebelius had been included on a four-person list of potential Obama vice presidents put forth in media accounts. She joined Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Biden on that list.
Sebelius was seen as the dark-horse inclusion because of her lack of national name recognition and dearth of foreign policy experience, an issue on which Obama may be vulnerable.
Local political observers, however, saw a strong relationship between Obama and Sebelius, and her image as a successful Democratic governor in a staunchly Republican state complemented Obama’s message of post-partisan politics.
But in the end, the freshman senator appears to have chosen Biden to balance his resume in worldly affairs. The six-term senator is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and just this week visited the war-torn country of Georgia.

Topeka Capital-Journal: Obama chooses Biden, not Sebelius
