Lieberman addresses Republican National Convention

As Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman opened his address to the Republican National Convention, he voiced the theme he has been sounding for the past several months- working together across the aisle. After talking about Hurricane Gustav, Lieberman said, "it shouldn't take a hurricane to bring us together like this."

"What is a Democrat like me doing at a Republican convention like this?" Lieberman asked. "I'm here to support John McCain because country matters more than party.

"John McCain is the best choice to bring our country together and lead America forward."
