Fifth class action suit filed against Moark, egg producers

A fifth class action lawsuit alleging price fixing on the part of Moark and other U. S. egg producers was filed Oct. 8 in a Pennsylvania federal court.

The action was brought by Nussbaum-SF Inc., and says the companies took steps to "manipulate the supply of eggs in the United States and to artificially inflate the prices of eggs and egg products sold in the United States to supracompetitive levels."

The Neosho firm and the other egg companies are being investigated by the Justice Department for the alleged price fixing, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
