First debate question is over economy

No surprise, the first question in tonight's presidential debate is about the economy and was presented to Barack Obama.

"This is a final verdict on the failed economic policies of the past eight years," Obama said, criticizing the deregulation that he says has derailed the economy.

AIG executives should be fired for taking a $400,000 junket a week after the company was bailed out, Obama said, and the money should be paid back.

Obama's opening statement was strong and plays to his advantage in economic matters.
