Congressman Kenny Hulshof added $70,000 to his campaign account Wednesday, normally a good day, but this time it occurred on the same day his opponent in the governor's race, Attorney General Jay Nixon, raised $160,000.
Hulshof received $25,000 from the Missouri Hospital Association PAC, and $45,000 from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, St. Louis, and two of its top executives, Jack Taylor and Andrew Taylor.
The biggest chunk of Nixon's oversized contributions, $100,000, came from Carpenters District Council of Kansas City and Vicinity. Nixon also picked up $25,000 apiece from the Missouri Hospital Association PAC and International Union of Operating Engineers Political Education Fund, and $10,000 from HNTB Holdings Ltd. PAC.
Since campaign contribution limits were removed Aug. 28, Nixon has received $3,204,650 in oversized contributions, while Hulshof has raked in $2,512,081.
