The Kansas City law firm of Stueve, Siegel, Hanson & Woody LLC, dropped a $100,000 check into Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Nixon's campaign Wednesday, according to a 48-hour report filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Nixon picked up $129,375, according to the report, including $10,000 apiece from Thompson Coburn LLP, St. Louis; and United Healthcare Services, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. He also received $9,375 from Teamsters Local Union No. 541, Kansas City.
Nixon's opponent, Republican Kenny Hulshof, reported $33,450 in oversized contributions today, including $13,450 from the Barry County Republican Committee, and $10,000 apiece from attorney Thomas Walsh, St. Louis; and John Ferguson, Ferguson Properties, Liberty.
Since campaign contribution limits were lifted, Nixon has collected $3,667,375, while Hulshof has received $3,115,474.17.
