Washington law firm investigating Moark for possible class action lawsuit

Moark, already facing three class action lawsuits in connection with an ongoing Department of Justice investigation into price fixing, may soon have a fourth one on its hands.

A news release issued Monday by a law firm in the state of Washington is asking for information from companies that have done business with Moark and other egg companies which are also being investigated. The news release reads:

Keller Rohrback L.L.P. ( www.krclassaction.com) announces that it has commenced an investigation of a potential antitrust class action lawsuit against Golden Oval Eggs LLC, Michael Foods, Inc., and MoArk LLC (a unit of Land O'Lakes Inc.) related to the pricing and marketing of egg products. The U.S. Department of Justice has confirmed that prosecutors are conducting an inquiry into whether the egg industry engaged in anti-competitive practices. It has been reported that the U.S. Attorney General's Office in Philadelphia served subpoenas on each of the above-mentioned companies. Egg prices reportedly increased by more than 40% in 2007.
