The Victorymen, the Joplin-based gospel group that has become one of the best-known in the Midwest, will be one of the acts performing at a benefit scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in the South Middle School Auditorium.
Our group, Natural Disaster, will play rock and country oldies from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the Victorymen for an hour then a number of other performers will do two or three numbers apiece, including one of my former Diamond Middle School students Casey Welch, one of my colleagues at South Clair Ervin, and others.
A silent auction will also be held. Proceeds from the event will go to defray medical expenses for Columbia Elementary custodian Leroy Wilson, who is battling cancer.
