Republican attorney general candidate Mike Gibbons saturated radio and television with attack ads against Democratic opponent Chris Koster during the past few days and it appears a familiar name may have been partially responsible for some last-minute ad buys.
A report filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission today indicates Gibbons received $38,500 Monday, including $20,000 from David Humphreys of TAMKO in Joplin.
Gibbons also picked up $5,000 from Robert Devereux, St. Louis; $2,500 from Jeffrey Fox, St. Louis; $5,000 from Intuit, San Diego, Calif.; $1,500 from Boardwalk Corporate Centre, O'Fallon; $1,00 from attorney Thomas Nash, St. Louis; $1,000 from Willey Charles, Town and Country; $1,000 from Steven Rovak, St. Louis; and $500 apiece from Clark Cole, St. Louis; Daniel Brown, St. Louis; and Casey's General Stores, Ankeny, Iowa.
Missouri Ethics Commission documents indicate David Humphreys and his family have contributed more than a quarter of a million dollars, $253,900, to the Gibbons campaign over the past year, including $151,275 from David Humphreys. Of that total, $100,000 has come in the past two weeks.
