Washington Post: Nixon to succeed "unpopular governor"
Washington Post staff writer William Branigin, in a wrapup story about state elections, accurately notes that Jay Nixon's election was made much easier because of the way many Missourians feel about the current holder of the office:
In gubernatorial races, Democrat Jay Nixon won in Missouri, defeating Republican Rep. Kenny Hulshof in a race to succeed an unpopular GOP governor who decided not seek reelection.
The Post did not even consider Matt Blunt's name worthy of mention.
Blunt and trash can are one and the same.
