Former McCaskill staffer working for Koster

Travis Levitt, a former campaign worker for Sen. Claire McCaskill, is the new deputy treasurer for Attorney General Chris Koster's campaign committee, according to documents filed this week with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

Levitt resigned from his position in the McCaskill campaign in June 2006 after Republican operative Jeff Roe, in his blog, The Source, revealed that the young man had put inappropriate comments on his MySpace blog. The Levitt case has been used as an example of the problems that can hit young people who don't think carefully posting items on MySpace or Facebook.

In this case, it also shows that people can bounce back from those youthful indiscretions. Levitt has worked in other campaigns since his departure from the McCaskill team.

Koster's filing also changes the office he is seeking from attorney general in 2008, to re-election as attorney general in 2012.
