Alito rejects Skillicorn request for stay of execution

With only two hours left before convicted Dennis Skillicorn is executed, another longshot hope fell short.

U. S. Supreme Courr Justice Samuel Alito denied Skillicorn's request for a stay of execution. The following message was placed on the Supreme Court website moments ago:

The application for stay of execution of sentence of death presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied.

Alito also rejected Skillicorn's requests for a writ of certiorari and a writ of habeas corpus.
