A 9 a.m. Aug. 12 preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Garrett Mason, 19, Nevada, who is charged with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the May 25 stabbing deaths of Annie Reed, 18, and Kylie Leyva, 14, both of Nevada.
As noted in the June 8 Turner Report, Mason's attorney, public defender Joe Zuzul, has dropped his request for a change of judge.
