Though wild card Sarah Steelman is still lurking on the periphery, it appears the GOP old guard is solidly lining up behind Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt's candidacy for U. S. Senate.
The latest to back Blunt, not long after criticizing him, is former U. S. Senator John Danforth.
Not to cast any aspersions against Blunt, but this is whole idea of everyone backing a single candidate to save money for the general election (and even worse, giving a nomination to someone because it is his or her turn) is why the people end up getting such poor choices for office and why they remain disconnected from the process.
