Weapon led to arrest in murder of Old Cabin Shop owners

KZRG reports that an arrest in a stolen weapon case July 1 led the Jasper County Sheriff's Department to arrest two men, Darren Winans, Jasper, and Matthew Laurin, Springfield, in connection with the Oct. 11, 2008, murders of Bob and Ellen Sheldon, owners of the Old Cabin Shop in Carthage.

As noted earlier in The Turner Report, Winans was arrested July 1 for the Sept. 23, 2008, theft of what apparently is the murder weapon. The two men have been charged with first degree murder.
