Judge says feds have probable cause to hold McDonald County white supremacist

Following a 15-minute session in U. S. District Court in Springfield this morning, Judge James C. England ruled there was probable cause to hold McDonald County white supremacist Robert Joos on a weapons charge.

The judge made no ruling on the prosecution's request to have Joos held without bail, taking the matter under advisement. Joos will remain in jail for the time being.

Joos, 56, was arrested last week for being a felon in possession of firearms. His arrest was part of an ATF investigation into a 2004 racially-motivated bombing in Scottsdale, Ariz. National white supremacist leader Dennis Mahon and his brother Daniel have been charged with that bombing.
