Emery: Obama has more questions to answer about birth

Count Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, among those who think there is still a question about whether President Barack Obama is legally president of the United States.

Emery was one of those featured in Springfield News-Leader reporter Chad Livengood's article this morning on the so-called birther movement:

State Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, has not joined the lawsuit with his colleagues, but attended a birther meeting Taitz hosted in July in Jefferson City.

Emery said Tuesday he remains unconvinced that Obama has answered all the questions about his background.

"I think it's important that we don't just put it aside," Emery said.

Livengood's article also addresses comments made last week by Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt concerning Obama's birth certificate.

I suspect that Obama is an alien (from outer space, not the type that infuriates Lou Dobbs, King of the Birthers).

It must be agreed that we cannot prove at this time that he is not an alien from outer space. At the very least there are "lingering questions."

Any president would reasonably want to put such issues behind him so that he may lead effectively in the assurance that the people embrace his authority. Thus, I demand that he present an x-ray* of his internal organs so that, if he is not an alien, we may be convinced of it and so he may be assured of the support of the nation and thus be effective as a leader.

What? No X-ray? Only two ways to understand it.

    1. Obama is an outer space alien and does not want to be exposed, even if it makes him an ineffective leader.

    2. Obama is not an alien, but doesn't care or realize that failing to provide his X-ray diminishes his effectiveness as a leader of the country.

In either case, it is a disaster for the office of the presidency.

    * - we reserve the right to point out that space aliens are likely intelligent and resourceful enough to fake human-looking X-rays.

Are the Birthers any less cookie than those who followed Michael Moore down the little red path or who claimed Bush was not a legit President after the 2000 election?

So Ed still hasn't figured out he's riding a dead horse. He's getting paid to ride this dead horse. When will his term finally be over? I have not seen anything productive from this man in all the time he has been in office....a big waste of tax payers money. Ed thinks if he gets his name in the paper he's done something. Doesn't take much to keep Ed happy....I think maybe Ed should be check to see if he's not the alien from outer space. No, he's to stupid to be an alien.

To Anonymous 10:19, the difference is that the Dems keep their people like Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan and co. on the fringe they do not embrace them and bring them to the front and center. The Republicans have a lot of problems getting their message out and every time they get a little attention, get some good press, have someone write about their ideas, here come the tea baggers, the birthers, the wing nuts, the racists and the attention getters. And everyone thinks what a bunch of loons. Look at when McCaskill had a town hall in Joplin and who showed up and tried to disrupt it. John Putnam and co., How can you build a party when you are willing to sell your soul to the looneys on the far fringe??

Maybe if we get lucky the aliens will take Rep. Emery and he can home school them, run them off the roads and try and figure out where they came from.
