Chart: Speck not surprised by no-confidence vote

Reporter Brennan Stebbins of Missouri Southern State Univeristy's campus newspaper, The Chart, tracked down President Bruce Speck to get his reaction on today's no-confidence vote by the Faculty Senate.

"I think they have determined in many ways they're going to take a vote," Speck said. "I didn't know what they were going to do, I just felt it was my responsibility to give them a response before they voted because that would be material they could look at."
Speck provided the Faculty Senate with a nine-page response to an ad hoc committee's report detailing why a vote of no confidence is necessary. A final version of that report was given to Speck last week, and he distributed copies of his response before administrators were excused from the meeting.

Speck's responses (available on the Chart's website) were more of the same: evasion, deflecting blame to others, and pure ignorance of situations.

What a shocking lack of leadership!

What type of change? what would you do differently? I hate that damn "change" crap. Just like the national 08 election, thats all people could say, "We want Change" but they never knew anything more.
