Campaign money from special interests drives the public’s business. It employs a bunch of oxpeckers whose interests lie in perpetuating the system, not reforming it.
Unless and until Missouri restores limits on campaign contributions, the abuses will continue. Anything else simply is masquerading as ethics reform and is bogus.

Post-Dispatch editorial- Ethics bills falls short; campaign contribution limits needed
In a newly-posted editorial, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch claims ethics reform measures proposed by Rep. Steve Tilley, R-Perryville, and Sen. Charlie Shields, R-St. Joseph, fall short. The problem, the newspaper says, is the Wild West era ushered in when the legislature removed all limits on campaign contributions:
