Speck, continuing his recently implemented policy of not talking to the campus newspaper, The Chart, sent a message through his interpreter Rod Surber that he had no comment on whether he applied for an opening at Spalding University in Kentucky in November.
An e-mail obtained by The Chart, Missouri Southern State University's campus newspaper, showed that Dr. Brian Chapman, a candidate for an MSSU vice presidential position last year, did not think much of the anti-Speck forces at Southern, the university's Board of Governors and thought faculty members were out of touch with reality. He suggested Speck might apply for the Spalding position:
Chapman forwarded an e-mail to Speck concerning an opening at Spalding University in Kentucky on Nov. 6, four days after faculty at Southern voted no-confidence in Speck’s leadership.
“You might want to consider this,” Chapman wrote to Speck.
“Letter regarding my withdrawal of candidacy from the VPAA position will follow,” he added.
The Chart - through director of university relations and marketing Rod Surber - asked Speck if he had applied for the position at Spalding. He replied - through Surber - and said “no comment” and referred all further questions to Spalding.
This guy is a piece of work, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteI'm not from Kentucky, but I have nothing but respect and affection for the state. That said, however, I wish to God that Speck had gone to Kentucky, or maybe Cambodia State! When will he no longer plague our students and community here in Joplin with his narrow-minded, self-serving, paranoid imitation of Captain Queeg?
