Hour-long news starts tonight on Fox 14

Fox 14 begins its one hour news program at 9 p.m. tonight.

It should be interesting to see how this experiment works out and what the extra time will be used for. It would be nice to see some longer reports, maybe even some investigative work, as well as more time for local sports, which have been given short shrift on local stations across the country in recent years.

Hopefully, we will not see a bunch of the food and fluff materials that we often see on local stations' 5 p.m. news reports.

I will have more on this later.

Just so you know KODE and KSN runs fluff on their 5 news. KOAM runs news.

I haven't seen your follow-up. I have watched it several nights and thought it was Very Good. The bad news, I'm now staying up a half hour later. Bummer!

  3. I apologize for that. I keep getting caught up in Cardinals games, my writing, or tonight, the Lakers and the Celtics. I will make it a point to catch a few newscasts and make some comments.
