Pete Newman hearing turns into battle of the expert witnesses

Reportedly, the sentencing hearing for former Kanakuk Kamp director Pete Newman, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to several felony sex counts involving young boys is continuing and has turned into a battle of expert witnesses.

According to a brief on the Springfield News-Leader website:

Both sides have called expert witnesses to discuss the possibility that Newman could re-offend and whether he would respond to treatment.

Several other witnesses are expected to be called through the afternoon.

How in the world could the defense even find a credible expert witness to say that Pete is unlikely to reoffend? Seems preposterous given the stats on pedophilia and the fact that Pete has molested so many for so many years.

Who cares if he will re-offend? What he has already done is enough to lock him up for good. The consequence is not for his possible future actions, but for what he has already done!

KY3 report says that Pete's expert witness testified Petee's not going to reoffend because he's not a pedophile. Rather, he has repressed homosexual tendencies.

Then why didn't he have sex with ADULT males?

Kathee just tweeted that Pete was received TWO life sentences PLUS 30 years. Is that confirmed?

KY3 TV news confirmed the sentencing.
