Big money lines up behind Parson in 28th District

The big money seems to be falling in behind Rep. Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, in the 28th District State Senate race.

Parson pulled in $55,697 in the first three weeks of July, and spent $69,039.54, leaving him with $66,870.80.

The biggest contributors, both giving $5,000, were Missouri Republican Leadership Council, St. Louis; and Choice Managed Care, Cincinnati. He also picked up thousands from various political action committees.

Former Rep. Larry Wilson, a primary opponent, raised only $1,890 and spent $16,892.30, leaving him with $34,719.12.

The third candidate in the race, Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, has not posted his eight-day report. The reports are due today.
