Long has signed on to become one of the Freshman 50, a coalition of candidates who agree to six reforms. One of those reforms is to insist that entire bills must be read on the floor of Congress, and only those members present for the entire reading would be allowed to vote.
Wouldn't that cause gridlock?
"Maybe we need some gridlock in Washington," said Long.
Gridlock. Something Mr. Goodman would avoid at all costs.

Hmm, I wonder if Billy would have fillibustered for 20 hours like Goodman did last week? Nah, probably not even if he was trying to win an election. I mean, a man has to eat...
ReplyDeleteGridlock to repeal Obamacare? Gridlock to push tax reform?
ReplyDeleteGridlock to help balance America's budget?!
Maybe just gridlock to help Billy Long catch up with the rest of the pack so may be he has a shot at being a decent Congressman, something that seems completely unlikely at this point.
Gridlock and Recess....two things that would mean a lot to Billy Long. Especially recess so he could wrap his fat fingers around another place of food.
