Broadcasters would prefer to leave the rules as they are, but cable and satellite distributors want an overhaul. They say television broadcast stations have too much power in the talks because they can pull their content.

Blunt asks FCC to reconsider retransmission consent
While not coming down on either side of the issue, Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt has asked the Federal Communications Commission to reconsider the issue of retransmission consent, according to an article in he Washington D. C. magazine, The Hill:
