As noted last night on The Turner Report, Sen. Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, received the endorsement of three firefighters groups this morning in Springfield. The following news release was just issued by the Goodman campaign:
Jack Goodman today announced the endorsement of the Springfield Firefighters Association, the Southern Missouri Professional Firefighters Association, and the Missouri State Council of Firefighters for his bid for the MO-7th District Congressional House seat.
“I am humbled to have the endorsement of the Firefighter Associations in this congressional race. They represent the type of dedication and passion that all public servants should have. I am thankful to each and every one of them for their endorsement and their commitment to public service.”
“As a State Senator, Jack Goodman has been a strong supporter of public safety and made Missourians safer with legislation like the Castle Doctrine or the Stop Meth Act. As our next member of congress, he will be a strong voice for firefighters in Washington DC. His actions in Jefferson City have shown us that he will make all Missourians proud while working in Washington DC,” said Tony Kelley, President of the Missouri State Council of Firefighters.
There are 375 firefighters in southwest Missouri.
