Kinder's attorneys ask for three-week extension to settle dispute with attorney general

Attorneys representing Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder are asking for three weeks to settle disagreements with Attorney General Chris Koster over Kinder's lawsuit challenging the federal health care law.

In a document filed Friday in U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Thor Hearne, representing Kinder indicated Koster's concern about Kinder being involved in his official capacity as lieutenant governor could be addressed in three weeks.

Plaintiffs’ counsel and counsel for Attorney General Koster are currently reviewing and discussing those issues raised in Attorney General Koster’s Motion to Intervene and Memorandum in Support. The parties are hopeful these issues can be resolved without the need for further litigation of this issue.
