Show-Me Opinions: Everyone is taking away votes from Billy Long

It's Billy Long's election to lose, and according to the relaunched Show-Me Opinions blog, he may be doing just that.

In an examination of the Seventh District Congressional race, News2K opines, as has been written here, that though Long is still in the lead, Jack Goodman has the momentum, and several of the second-tier candidates seem likely to take votes from Long, rather than Goodman or Gary Nodler.

I love these last-minute WAG polls.

    Just the facts please.

    Another WAG prediction.

Hunter throws his support to Long.

Wardell throws his support to Wisdom.

Moore carries 40% of Greene County.

    Goodman throws up.

Monday a smear campaign starts on television targeting Long. Committee is from DC. This is the same committee that is targeting Political outsiders all across the country, not Missourians. Why would the inside the beltway crowd not want Long. They don't endorse any of the other candidates, just smear Long.
Does that mean that Political insiders from DC want anyone except Long? I guess it does since every other candidate is a Politician. Theymust figure both they and a professionalcandidate will get in line real quick when they get to DCand they provide them with the financial rewards of a politician who knows how the system works. It seems Long's outsider status might be his best asset, since that is what they target.

The smear campaign is being generated by some of the Goodman/Blunt campaign connections. Just like their connections to longiswrong.com.

Most of the smears toward Wisdom have been from the Goodman camp. All because Jeff is cutting into the vote Goodman believe is rightfully his.

Every vote that can be pulled from Long is believed to be going to Goodman. That's how they operate.

Rumors from inside the beltway are leaning toward the efforts coming from anti-gambling connections and have been coached by some of the past (maybe present) Blunt operatives.

This is just like a fraternal group of a secret society willing to do anything to control Washington.

Yeah, it would be nice to see some official straw poll on what's going on.

fraternal group of Washington insiders? Goodman will not be linked to any sort of smear campaign because he's above it.

Besides I thought Billy had all of the DC insiders on HIS side?

Then why has Miles Ross been texting the longiswrong.com blogger for months giving him details on every event Billy Long has attended? What was said by Billy and what he had to eat, was wearing, how many breaths per minute he was taking.

It would be great if this could go to a court of law and have Ross's telephone records revealed as part of the discovery process.

Just like, hopefully, the blog to beat Nodler will be revealed by the complaint being filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Go Billy. When you kick Goodman's rear in the Primary Election, don't forget these people with their hand out looking for a job in politics. You can find better people to work for us.

To say that Miles Ross is connected with Long is Wrong and that Jeff Roe is NOT connected with Defeat Nodler is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

You qualify to be on the News-Leader editorial advisory committee, or what ever it is called.
