In what is likely to be the message throughout the fall campaign, the latest ad from Roy Blunt's U. S. Senate campaign touts him as a "strong conservative," while repeating the "Rubber Stamp Robin' designation against opponent Robin Carnahan, and showing the video from a campaign stop in Missouri of President Obama saying he "needed" Ms. Carnahan in the Senate:
Robin Carnahan is smart. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from William Jewell College. Robin Carnahan has on the job training. She practiced law with the law firm of Thompson & Mitchell where she focused on business and corporate law and she served as an assistant to the chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. As Secretary of State, The Securities Division under her direction has taken the lead on a number of high profile cases, including a national settlement in August 2008 in which Wachovia Securities agreed to repay over 40,000 investors who had nearly $9 billion frozen in auction-rate securities accounts. Obama is trying to fix the economy. He needs someone with Robin's intelligence to help him.
ReplyDeleteRoy D Blunt only knows politicking. In 1970 he earned a master’s degree in history from Southwest Missouri State University. He entered politics in 1972. He stayed in politics until 1992 when he ran unsuccessfully for Governor of MO. From 1993 to 1996, Blunt was President of Southwest Baptist University, his alma mater. He resigned in 1996 when he was elected to the U. S. House of Representatives. Before he made it to the house, he had created a PAC - good old boy network.
