Long stretches lead over Goodman: 4,750 with four precincts left

It is looking more and more as if Seventh District voters were fed up. With only four counties remaining to be tallied, Springfield auctioneer Billy Long has built a 4,750 vote lead, 35 to 28 percent over Sen. Jack Goodman.

Christian County was likely the last big county for Long, but all he has to do is hold his own in the remaining four counties, Goodman's home Lawrence County, Taney, Stone, and McDonald, to earn the nomination.

On the Democratic side, the winner will be Scott Eckersley, who leads Tim Davis by 30 percent.
