Today, Sen. Bill Stouffer announced he is endorsing Vicky Hartzler in the November election for US Congress.
“While I respect Congressman Ike Skelton, I believe serving the people is an opportunity, not a privilege,” said Stouffer. “After 34 years, Ike has lost his way.”
Stouffer serves as Skelton’s state senator in Jefferson City and is a leader in agriculture and transportation issues in the state.
“My campaign was always about removing the gavel from Nancy Pelosi’s hands. In that sense, it will continue,” Stouffer added. “If re-elected, Ike’s first vote will be to elect Pelosi as Speaker. He has voted with her 95% of the time. San Francisco already has a vote in Congress; Rural Missouri deserves better.”
Stouffer plans to continue to serve in the Missouri Senate until his term ends in 2012.
