Longtime KSN anchor Jim Jackson will be the featured speaker at the Joplin East Middle School Veterans Day Program set for 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the school auditorium.
Jackson, a Vietnam War veteran, served six years in the U. S. Navy.
The program will begin with "The Star Spangled Banner" played by the EMS Band, under the direction of Nicholas Moore, the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Student Council President Paige Earl, a song from the EMS Choir, under the direction of Ms. Julie Yonkers, the presentation of the winning entry in the "Salute to Our Veterans" essay contest, and Jackson's speech.
The program will conclude with patriotic music.
The public is invited, with a special invitation to all area veterans. A section will be reserved in the front of the auditorium for the veterans.
They are hard up if Jim Jackson is all they can get.
ReplyDeleteThe question is will Jim need a teleprompter?
ReplyDeleteWill he used his "fake accent" voice that he uses on TV?
ReplyDeleteI think you are missing the point, the assembly is not about Jim Jackson, its about honoring our veterans. Jackson served in Vietnam, he served our nation during an unpopular time. What have you done?
ReplyDeleteFinally, someone who has the decency to realize this is about honoring veterans instead of taking cheap shots.
