In first floor speech, Hartzler rips Obamacare

It didn't take Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler long to begin attacking the Obama Administration on the floor of the House. In her first speech, Mrs. Hartzler ripped Obamacare. From her news release:

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) has made good on a campaign promise to work toward the repeal of job-killing ObamaCare, joining U.S. House colleagues to pass an initial vote to end the government health care takeover. Prior to the vote Hartzler made her maiden speech from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, launching a blistering attack on ObamaCare. In stating her case, Hartzler focused on jobs, ever-increasing debt, and individual rights and freedoms.

"This is a jobs bill," stated Hartzler. "In the 4th District we have businesses that are not hiring and not expanding because of the health care bill. We have got to repeal this so we can create more jobs. I'm a small business owner, myself, and I can tell you since this has passed that health insurance premiums have skyrocketed in anticipation of the mandates going to be forced on them."

"This is also a bill to rein in the runaway spending that is devastating our country and is mortgaging our children's future, and as a mother that's important to me," added Hartzler. "This bill put another $1.2 trillion of debt on our country. We cannot afford that."

"Lastly, this is a freedom bill," concluded Hartzler. "The people of my district do not want the government telling them they have to buy a private product and then mandating what is in that product - That is unconstitutional!"

The first vote sets up a day of debate on repealing the health reform law on Wednesday. It is expected to pass overwhelmingly before being sent to the Senate for its consideration.
