Jobs legislation put on hold while GOP continues attack on federal programs

Nearly every news release issued by a state legislator prior to the beginning of the 2011 session featured some sort of comment that the major issue on the agenda would be jobs.

So far, it appears the legislature is headed exactly in the direction it did in 2010.

The Missouri Senate's Rules, Joint Rules, Resolutions, and Ethics Committee will hold a hearing today on SR 27, sponsored by Sen. Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield, which would call on Attorney General Chris Koster to join a lawsuit filed bby 20 state attorneys general against the federal health care plan. The resolution also offers Koster the options of filing an independent lawsuit or joining the one filed by Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder.

A similar resolution passed the House last week.
