“President Obama’s policies of unchecked government spending have already led to a $1.48 trillion deficit and his solution to this problem is more spending,” Hartzler said. “The President is proposing $46 trillion in spending over the next decade – with $8.7 trillion in new spending. In addition, he is asking for $1.6 trillion in new taxes on families and small businesses, and he wants to borrow $13 trillion to add to the debt. Runaway spending creates uncertainty for job creators; taxes stifle job creation; and borrowing depresses the economy.”
“Citizens of the 4th District want their government to cut spending and help create jobs,” Hartzler continued. “This budget proposal fails these tests in every respect. We’ve got to do better for our children and grandchildren.”
