Swift Boat financier Simmons contributes $25K to Kinder

The $70,000 in oversized contributions reported by Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder Friday included $25,000 from Harold Simmons, one of the chief contributors to the Swift Boat campaign against Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004.

Simmons, 79, contributed $4 million to the Swift Boat campaign.

This is not the first time Simmons has placed money in a Republican candidate for Missouri governor. As noted in a 2007 Turner Report post, Simmons gave $50,000 to former Gov. Matt Blunt.

Simmons has not been the only Swift Boat financier to pour money into the campaigns of Kinder and others in the Missouri GOP. Robert Perry provided money to the Missouri Republican Party three years ago that was funneled into the campaign accounts of Kinder and Michael Gibbons, who ran unsuccesfully for attorney general.

Just what's wrong with Simmons giving money to expose John Kerry for being a lunatic?

Kinder has absolutely no chance win the governor's race. The man is an over-grown college republican and is far beyond the mainstream.

Nixon visits southwest Missouri at least 2-3 times a month and he will win here just like he did against Hulshof in 2008.

Gee I must have missed something. I never did know that John Kerry had been or was a lunatic as 6:47 says.

Seems like he has and keeps a high office in the land. Just what have you done for society Anonymous 6:47? My guess is NOTHING.
