2010 commentary on Westboro Baptist Church: There is room for dissent and decency

In this July 2010 video commentary, despite a face that was made for radio, I offered a few thoughts on Rev. Fred Phelps and his blasphemous Westboro Baptist Church, who are supposed to be in Joplin tomorrow to protest at the memorial service for those who lost their lives in last Sunday's tornado.


I made the video after several major media outlets filed amicus briefs in favor of the church and before the U. S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Phelps and his misfits. The situation is different, but the video is still timely.

There has to be room in this country for dissent and decency.
