Leola L. (McCune) Hardin, age 76, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Freeman Hospital from injuries sustained from the Joplin tornado.
She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Jasper, Mo., to Howard L. and Vera (Ferguson) McCune.
Leola worked as a packer for Bagcraft retiring in 2000. She made lap blankets for Hospice Compassus.
She married Kenneth Hardin on Feb. 14, 1954, in Jasper. He preceded her in death in December 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hardin, of Joplin, and Kenneth Hardin and wife, Lori, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one daughter, Kathy Robbins and husband, Wade, of Carthage, Ind.; one brother, Jim McCune, of Carthage, Mo.; one sister, Helen Carter, of Carthage; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roy McCune.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Carthage. Richard McCune will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in Diamond Cemetery at a later date. The visitation will be immediately following the service.
