(From the Mitt Romney presidential campaign)
“Mitt Romney [will announce] today that U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) will lead his Congressional Team, spearheading the campaign’s effort to secure the support of Republican members in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. During the 2000 presidential election, then-U.S. Representative Blunt filled a similar role for George W. Bush’s campaign in the lead up to his securing the Republican Party’s nomination and his successful bid for the White House.
“‘Our nation faces historic challenges today, and under President Obama’s policies, we’ve witnessed high unemployment, skyrocketing debt, out-of-control spending, and burdensome regulations that have stifled job creation,’ said Blunt. “Through his experience in the private sector and as governor, I believe Mitt has the right background to help create more economic certainty and spur job growth in Missouri and nationwide.’”
